Here’s an update about Taste WA 2025!
It’s time to purchase tickets for Taste Washington, an explosion of tastes and fun on March 13-17 in Seattle. But there’s more! Read on to find out about 11 unique events at what we call the Super Bowl of Wine Events.
Update: Taste WA 2025
By now, you know that we are major fans of wine from this state, which we’ve been writing about since we moved here in 1999. So, of course, we’re excited about Taste WA 2025, seven days of fun centered on Washington wine. First, the two-day Grand Tasting (March 15-16) features more than 200 wineries and 75 of the state’s best restaurants at the Lumen Field Event Center. Want help to plan the best way to navigate the Grand Tasting? See below.
But wait, there’s more! Pacific Standard (March 13) is a nautically inclined evening of seafood by ten acclaimed chefs and restaurants, paired with whites, rosés and bubbles from 12 WA wineries. Next, popular activities such as The New Vintage (March 14), Sunday Brunch (March 16), and seminars (March 15) showcase the magic of Washington wines – those you know and love, and other gems to discover.
By the way, The New Vintage features a dozen prestigious wineries, a dozen emerging chefs, and signature cocktails by Seattle’s own Erik Hakkinen, owner of Roquette, a 2025 James Beard Award Nominee.
In addition, the day after the Grand Tasting, No Frills! (March 17) is a casual laid-back after party. Wine down! Finally, the highly anticipated Dinner Series (dates TBD) bring wine lovers and winemakers together to enjoy a meal prepared by premier chefs.
The Grand Tasting: Make a Plan
We always give this same crucial advice to make the most of your Grand Tasting experience. Before you enter the doors, we highly recommend that you develop a plan. Because once there, you will be hit with a massive amount of taste potentials — and it can be overwhelming. For example, one year we decided to mainly taste Cabernet Franc; another year, we only tried white wines, rosés, and bubbles.

So, make a list of wineries and restaurants you want to visit. But be sure to leave room for some flexibility; chances are something will catch your eye as you walk through the aisles.
And wear comfortable shoes! Do not wear perfume or cologne.
Of note, we suggest tasting and spitting wine or pouring it into the buckets at each table. However, if you think you might want more than a sip or two, check out hotels in the area because some offer special weekend packages. Otherwise, be sure to have a designated driver, or take cabs or local transit home.
