Trothe Syrah
Trothe quickly built a reputation as a producer of world-class luxury wines. And the dream team at Trothe has done it again! The just-released Trothe Syrah 2020 is ready to join other exquisite Trothe wines on the world stage. It is impressive – classy, structured, complex and elegant, more like an old-world Syrah. This reflects how Trothe proprietor and fourth-generation farmer Jeff Andrews and talented winemaker Ray McKee worked closely on their Horse Heaven Hills vineyards with renowned French winemakers Philippe Cambie (a Rhône legend) and Michel Gassier.
Trothe Limited
Trothe’s dream team – Jeff Andrews (the passionate managing partner at the acclaimed Andrews Family Vineyards), Ray McKee (incredible winemaker) and Todd Chapman (talented vineyards manager) – spotlight the very best varieties and blocks from special vintages for their new Limited Series. Trothe Limited 2019 Malbec, which is yet another world-class wine from the Horse Heaven Hills, is first up. We have been major fans of Trothe since the beginning, tasting both vintages of their exquisite Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc and the not-yet-released Syrah. And now, we add this stunning Malbec to the list of their wines worthy of the world stage. Read on for details.
Celebrate WA Wine
Above all, we have been cheerleaders for WA wine since we moved here in 1999. Therefore, we celebrate WA wine every month, but even more so in August, which is Washington Wine Month, aka WAugust! With eight wine-touring regions, 19 AVAs, 1,000+ wineries, and 400+ vineyards, there is something for everyone here. To kick off the month-long festivities, Washington Wine held a Grand Tasting of 116 wineries at the picturesque Chateau Ste. Michelle. Read on for our notes about the wines we tasted and the people we talked to at this great media and trade event. In addition, find out about special wine discounts and promotions throughout WAugust.
