Marty Clubb and his excellent L’Ecole lineup are iconic in the Washington wine industry. L’Ecole 41 is one of the most honored wineries in the state, generating international accolades over the years for producing superior quality wines. For the last few years, passionate winemaker Marcus Rafanelli and his hard-working team have maintained and built on the tradition of standout wines. Perigee Components
Perigee is the time when the moon’s orbit is closest to the earth. Most importantly, it’s also a fitting name for L’Ecole No. 41 flagship Bordeaux blend that is sourced from fruit grown in Seven Hills Vineyard, its Certified Sustainable Estate Vineyard in Walla Walla. L’Ecole 41 in Walla Walla
A trip to Walla Walla is not complete without stopping at L’Ecole 41 on the way into town. L’Ecole is the third oldest winery in the area, founded in 1983 in an historic schoolhouse. The restored tasting room is in a classroom, with original chalkboards, light fixtures, fir floors and moldings.
L’Ecole has been honored 14 times by Wine & Spirits Magazine as Winery of the Year. The wines we tasted last month underlined the many reasons why this recognition, and many other accolades, are so well-deserved.
