We’ve said this before, and we’re sure we will say it again. Talented winemaker Kit Singh at Lauren Ashton Cellars consistently crafts high-quality Washington state wine. We have enjoyed Kit’s impressive lineup from the day he and his wife Riinu opened their Woodinville winery ten years ago. This tradition continues in two October releases, which we were fortunate enough to sample last week, courtesy of the winery: 2017 Chenin Blanc and 2014 Proprietor’s Cuvée. They both are excellent. Here are the details.

A Lovely Rosé for Warm Weather
At Taste Washington last month, we had a wonderful chat with Kit Singh (left), co-owner and winemaker at Lauren Ashton Cellars, and met Sam Mosman (right), vineyard manager of Lonesome Spring Ranch Vineyard. To our delight, Kit poured us a sample of LAC 2017 rosé, which is being released to the public on April 21-22 at their tasting studio in Woodinville’s Hollywood District.
We also received a bottle to sample, which solidified our enjoyment of that initial taste. This wine confirms a constant in our posts about LAC — Kit Singh makes great wine. It’s that simple.

2013 Lauren Ashton Cellars Malbec
If you are mad about Malbec, this 2013 beauty from Lauren Ashton Cellars will be available soon. We were fortunate to receive a sample prior to its release.
This new vintage has been much anticipated, after winemaker Kit Singh’s successful Malbec debut in 2012. And we predict another winner.

Rosé Release and More from Lauren Ashton Cellars
There’s a reason we talk a lot about Lauren Ashton Cellars — Kit Singh makes great wine. It’s that simple.
His recent rosé release is solid proof, and two June releases — 2013 Cuvée Arlette and 2016 Cuvée Meline — seal the deal.
2016 Lauren Ashton Rosé ($21)
Just released on April 22, this is a perfect rosé for spring and summer. The blend of Grenache (52%), Counoise (28%) and Mourvedre (20%) features berry notes and some citrus and spices. This wine is bright, lively and fruity, yet dry. Pair it with salads, pasta and rice dishes, seafood, shellfish and cheesy dishes. Or simply drink it without food, pairing it with your patio or deck on a warm afternoon or evening.
A portion of proceeds during the Rosé release weekend will be donated to Susan G. Komen Puget Sound. “We have a belief in this community and a passion for giving back,” said Singh. “We are able to provide our wine and our time to recipients we believe in. With our Rosé release becoming so popular, we love doing something to get the community involved too.”
