August is Washington Wine Month, and as this 31-day celebration winds down, we wanted to look back on some of the bottles of splendid juice we’ve enjoyed in the last month or so. Most importantly, we celebrate Washington wine every month. But during August, there are even more reasons to rejoice. Meanwhile, here are 12 excellent WA wines we’ve recently tasted.

Incredible Hospitality
When we first encountered Caprio Cellars more than two years ago, we considered this beautiful winery, with incredible hospitality, as a hidden gem on the south side of Walla Walla. It’s no longer a secret. These days, many wine enthusiasts discovered Caprio features a winning combination: abounding hospitality, world-class wines, tasty food, a gorgeous tasting room, and a 360° view of the Walla Walla Valley. We recommend that you make it a must-stop visit too.
Celebrate WA Wine
Above all, we have been cheerleaders for WA wine since we moved here in 1999. Therefore, we celebrate WA wine every month, but even more so in August, which is Washington Wine Month, aka WAugust! With eight wine-touring regions, 19 AVAs, 1,000+ wineries, and 400+ vineyards, there is something for everyone here. To kick off the month-long festivities, Washington Wine held a Grand Tasting of 116 wineries at the picturesque Chateau Ste. Michelle. Read on for our notes about the wines we tasted and the people we talked to at this great media and trade event. In addition, find out about special wine discounts and promotions throughout WAugust.
National Rosé Day
June 11 is National Rosé Day. But also keep in mind that summer is around the corner and therefore, there’s always an occasion to “rosé all day”! Certainly, it’s time to drink pink on the patio, oceanside or poolside. We sip it on our deck lakeside on warm evenings, and watch its pretty color match the gorgeous Washington sunsets. However, we haven’t finalized all our bottles to open on National Rosé Day this year. Read on for the list of possibilities.
