We had an amazing time in Napa Valley last week – the best we’ve ever had – because we met some wonderful people in addition to tasting some incredible wines. This visit far exceeded our expectations. So I hope regular readers will understand that in the coming weeks, I will be posting about our Napa trip in addition to our continued focus on Washington state wines.
So to begin – a special shout out to Goosecross Cellars’ David and Colleen Topper and to Christophe Smith of Titus Vineyards, whom I met on Twitter. They gave us a warm Napa Valley welcome and shared some fine wines. I’ll be writing separate posts about those experiences. Also, thanks to several family members, friends at work, on Facebook and on Twitter for your recommendations — Gerri Sinclair, Mathew Levenson, Laura and Todd Taylor, Jacques Geoffrion, Erin Bray, Tim Marklein, Lisa Zeitler, Joel Vincent and Paul Mabray. Thanks to you, we experienced some new wineries in addition to some old favorites.
We visited 11 wineries over three days; we stopped by two wineries two times; and we spent more than one hour at a couple of them. Here are the wineries we visited – stay tuned for details about many of them in the days ahead.
- Goosecross Cellars (two visits)
- Cakebread (two visits)
- Frank Family
- Titus Vineyards
- Silver Oak
- Hall Wines
- Luna Vineyards
- Peju
- Plumpjack
- Rubicon Estate
- Del Dotto Vineyards
There are stories from every stop along the way – please come back often for details.
Cheers!
