Hawaii anniversary wine! To celebrate our milestone anniversary this month, we took two of our favorite Washington luxury wines to Kona, Hawaii. Namely, Dossier 2022 Sauvignon Blanc and Trothe 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon. We tasted and loved both of these exceptional wines before, so we really looked forward to trying them again a few years later. Wow. Anniversary Wine: Dossier 2022 Sauvignon Blanc

When we first tasted Dossier 2022 Sauvignon Blanc in 2024, we found it delightful, with flavors and aromas of stone fruit, citrus, tropical fruit, brioche, and a touch of graphite. Now, with four years of age on it, this is one smooth white wine and still one of the best Washington Sauv Blancs we’ve enjoyed. Rich, textured, and rounded, with less lemon and grapefruit flavors and more tropical and stone fruits. Master of Wine Billo Naravane of Rasa Vineyards crafted this SB, so you know the wine will be outstanding before you even open the bottle.

Anniversary Wine: Trothe 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon

Trothe’s 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is the inaugural release, which we first tasted four years ago. We immediately understood why this remarkable wine received widespread acclaim. At the time, we imagined what it would be like down the road, with its impressive aging potential. We only managed to wait eight years, because we just couldn’t think of a better red wine to celebrate our anniversary. What a show stopper. This beauty is rich and plush, fresh and savory, sophisticated and stunning, with classic Horse Heaven Hills minerality.
