So many incredible things are happening at DeLille Cellars right now, it’s hard to decide where to begin. From a gorgeous milestone wine release to a new tasting lounge to Washington Wine Month specials, we want to jump in the car and head right over there. But let’s start with the wine. Above all, this epic Washington winery recently released the spectacular DeLille Harrison Hill 2018, 25th vintage.
DeLille Harrison Hill 2018, 25th Vintage
Yes that’s right – winemakers have poured 25 years into crafting this stellar DeLille Harrison Hill 2018. According to the winery, the 2018 vintage “offers a slightly more hedonistic wine from these cherished older vines.” We were fortunate to receive a sample.
DeLille Harrison Hill 2018 blends Cabernet Sauvignon (61%) with Merlot (26%) and Cabernet Franc (13%). In other words, this is a beautiful blend! Some wines simply have that WOW factor. This is one of them. Further, the second-oldest Cabernet vines in Washington state form the backbone of this elegant, complex, earthy, lively Bordeaux-style blend. I’ll say it again. Simply wow.
Certainly, this is a special-occasion wine. And talk about synchronicity – we also have a 25th-anniversary milestone to celebrate in a few weeks. So this sounds like a perfect reason to open DeLille Harrison Hill 25th vintage, don’t you think?
Wine Lounge
Meanwhile, in other news, DeLille Cellars is opening a wine lounge at the former Redhook site where Forecaster’s and Wheelhouse restaurants used to be located. “The Lounge at DeLille Cellars will offer unique glass pours, flights, food and wine pairings, and spaces for private dining and small events. Come summer, the former patio will open as The Deck with an expanded menu.” Now there’s an excellent reason to raise your glass and cheer!
The wine lounge builds on DeLille’s unique three-level tasting room and retail tower, which opened in December 2019 at the former Redhook site. This facility offers an outdoor patio, rooftop deck and views of Mt. Rainier. Specifically, it features private tasting rooms, a cozy library, and a mezzanine overlooking rows of barrels and the winemaking facilities.
And you can book reservations online to secure seats for a classic wine tasting, group private tastings, food and wine pairings, a library experience or wine club tastings. Check DeLille’s website for more details about the tastings and pricing.
