It’s back! Taste WA 2023 is going to be epic. For two decades, we have called this festival “the Super Bowl of Wine Events.” It’s the country’s largest single-region wine and food extravaganza. So what are you waiting for? Taste Washington is around the corner, and you do not want to miss this explosion of tastes, fun and education on March 6-13 in Seattle — especially because organizers understandably cancelled the in-person activities for three years because of the pandemic. In addition, some early bird pricing is available if you get tickets soon.

Thanksgiving 2022 Wines
The holidays are just around the corner, and as a result, we’re trying to decide which Thanksgiving 2022 wines to pour. Do you know yet? Perhaps you’re looking for a good pairing for your turkey feast or, on the other hand, a special bottle to take to a family dinner or an evening with good friends. If you love red wine, for example, some good bets are Pinot Noir, Syrah, Malbec, Zinfandel and Merlot. But if you prefer whites, Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Pecorino, Albariño, Marsanne and Chardonnay work well. Likewise, Rosé is also a good option. Overall, some wines pair well with turkey or sides, and others are best at parties. Above all, there is no right or wrong! Similarly, here are 25 wines that we recently tasted or are in our cellar, which we are considering for our Thanksgiving festivities. Continue reading
Celebrate WA Wine
Above all, we have been cheerleaders for WA wine since we moved here in 1999. Therefore, we celebrate WA wine every month, but even more so in August, which is Washington Wine Month, aka WAugust! With eight wine-touring regions, 19 AVAs, 1,000+ wineries, and 400+ vineyards, there is something for everyone here. To kick off the month-long festivities, Washington Wine held a Grand Tasting of 116 wineries at the picturesque Chateau Ste. Michelle. Read on for our notes about the wines we tasted and the people we talked to at this great media and trade event. In addition, find out about special wine discounts and promotions throughout WAugust.
Morgan Lee
We said it before, and we’ll say it again: We’ve never met a wine from Morgan Lee that we didn’t like. Or love. From Two Vintners Wines to Covington Cellars to his Full Pull partnership with Block Wines, Morgan Lee makes killer juice. Not surprisingly, he’s frequently described as a superstar winemaker. We caught up with him two weeks ago when Washington Wine invited media and trade to the scenic Chateau Ste. Michelle to a “Celebrate Washington Wine” Grand Tasting. He poured his amazing new release, Two Vintners 2018 Gayle Syrah. And we also recently opened six of his other wines: Block Wines 2018 Ankleroller Rocks Syrah and Starside Cabernet Sauvignon 2020; Two Vintners 2015 Some Days are Stones Syrah, 2017 Syrah, and 2018 Lola; and Covington Cellars 2017 Franc.
