Smoke on the Boulevard

Smoke on the Boulevard CocktailOur new favorite cocktail is Smoke on the Boulevard, which we first tasted at Hell’s Kitchen at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Next, we ordered it again at Hell’s Kitchen in Lake Tahoe. We so adore this cocktail, Dave purchased a smoking gun kit, so we could make it at home. We adjusted the name to Smoke on the Water since our backyard, where Dave does the smoking, is on a little lake. As well, we both like the Deep Purple song of the same name, which tells the tale of a casino fire in Switzerland. Fitting, because of the Vegas connection. Read on for the recipe.

Irish Whiskey

Irish Whiskey We recently hosted an Irish Whiskey tasting for our small booze group. And we paired the whiskey with Irish cheeses, shamrock-bacon salad, Irish stew and Irish cream Nanaimo bars, among other goodies. Skrewball Shakes

Skrewball ShakesWe absolutely loved these very decadent milkshakes made with Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey. Yes, you read that right, Peanut Butter Whiskey milkshakes. Don’t shake your head – these are sinfully delicious! We’ve sipped on Skrewball as a cocktail before, straight up, paired with dark chocolate. To our surprise, it was amazing. But Skrewball Shakes are something else entirely. These are definitely not an everyday treat, but every so often, yes, please. Hmmm, Valentine’s Day is soon!
