Mark your calendars for the third annual Bellingham Northwest Wine Festival on August 4 at Four Points by Sheraton. This is a fun event, whether you live in Bellingham, Birch Bay, other parts of Whatcom County, or the Vancouver and Seattle areas.
The wines that are poured will be the winners of gold, double gold and Best in Show from an earlier judged competition. More than 125 wineries will be pouring wines from “the only judged wine competition between Seattle and Vancouver.”
The wineries include Alexandria Nicole Cellars, Dynasty Cellars, DeLille Cellars, Forgeron Cellars, Kiona, Nota Bene Cellars and The Walls, to name a few. The full list can be found on the Festival website.
“We think that northwest wine enthusiasts are going to be extremely pleased with both the quality and increased selection of wines at this year’s Festival,” said Zacchoreli Frescobaldi-Grimaldi, Executive Director Emeritus.
In addition to wine tasting, a variety of small bites will by served by area restaurants including 9Restaurant, Culture Cafe, Cosmos Bistro, Lovitt Restaurant, Pierside Kitchen at Semiahmoo, The Mill, 100 North and McKay’s Taphouse. A local brewery and two distilleries will also attend.
Tickets are available at two price levels — general admission is $50 for three hours of tasting in the Grand Ballroom, while VIP tickets cost $75 and provide an additional hour of tasting and exclusive access to a VIP lounge, featuring appetizers and hourly rotating wine pours not available in the Ballroom.
The event also serves as a fund-raising opportunity that will benefit a number of area non-profits, including Lydia Place, Our TreeHouse, Growing Alliances and Make.Shift.
Tickets and additional details are available on the Festival website.
We hope to see you there.
Cheers,
Margot and Dave
