Warm Weather Whites

Certainly, our enjoyment of warm weather whites increases every year. Until recently, our palates preferred Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris/Grigio. But these days, we also appreciate the beautiful Sancerres and Picpoul from France, in addition to the refreshing, wallet-friendly Turbiana grape from Lugana, Italy. Most importantly, there are so many wonderful wines to explore this summer. For example, here are some that we have tasted from Washington state, Oregon, California, Italy, France, Armenia and New Zealand.

National Rose Day BottlesToday, June 12, is National Rosé Day. Celebrate! But also keep in mind that there’s always an occasion to “rosé all day!” Certainly, we love to drink pink on our lakeside deck, and watch its pretty color match the gorgeous Washington sunsets. However, while rosé is perfect for summer sipping, it also has a place during other celebrations throughout the year. Above all, rosés are food-friendly and wallet-friendly wines. For instance, pair rosé with seafood, shellfish, smoked salmon, salads, pasta and Asian dishes. Or simply drink rosé without food. Here are ten beautiful rosés that we poured recently (by location, in alphabetical order) — five from Washington state, one from Oregon, three from France and one from Chile.
