If you are mad about Malbec, this 2013 beauty from Lauren Ashton Cellars will be available soon. We were fortunate to receive a sample prior to its release.
This new vintage has been much anticipated, after winemaker Kit Singh’s successful Malbec debut in 2012. And we predict another winner.
Lauren Ashton Cellars 2013 Malbec is rich, intense and balanced, showing a wonderful range of flavors. Pleasing aromatics of violets, herbs and dark plums are followed by luscious and seductive notes of blackberries, blueberries and cherries on the palate, and framed by fine tannins.
Since this is a new release, decant the wine for a couple of hours before drinking.
Kit recommends pairing it with beef brisket, lean red meats and blue cheeses. Or try it with grilled chicken breast, blackened with Cajun-style seasoning and served with cilantro lime sauce.
This Malbec is such an easy-drinking wine that you can enjoy it with your holiday meals, or on its own — take a bottle to a party and share it with friends.
The 2013 Malbec will be released to Lauren Ashton Cellars’ wine club on Sunday (Oct. 15), and then available immediately to the public ($45 SRP).
As mentioned in our post in April, there’s a reason we talk a lot about Lauren Ashton Cellars — Kit Singh makes great wine. It’s that simple.
Cheers!
